I get so overwhelmed that I will hide from them for like a month and feel guilty the whole time. And then I will spend days getting caught up. It’s not healthy.

The instant response thing was the last straw for me 11 years ago when I quit rather than be fired for delaying immediate response/compliance with an order to return to work while on leave at the death of my mother. The 'work' required of me was already done. Nope. Gotta be redone. Purchasing rules. I complied. The worst part was being double-teamed by so-called Christians who called my resistance to their orders "unprofessional," with the incomprehensible notion that I should be happy my mother was "in Glory now, with Jesus."
