The masking part is so true. I replay every conversation, every interaction, even every text and beat myself up for not coming across better. I keep my distance when people don't reply or when I get the wrong vibes. I know a lot of it stems from our childhood experiences as you mentioned and it is so very important to find our tribe. Also, being around overly critical and judgmental people only makes it worse.
Neurodivergent ones have it difficult around neurotypical ones on a normal day, having an actual bully only magnifies the experience manifold. Especially so in the workplace. You don't need to be reprimanded since you are already beating yourself up. With cynical and bullyish ones around you if you do not recognize the problem, it is very likely you will feel deeply humiliated and your confidence will take a plunge for the worse.
I love this. I’m a neurodivergent with severe ADHD. I’m rebranding my newsletter and pages specifically for this . I love this about finding a tribe. If I was in London, I’d jump on being in the tribe you created on Meetup. If I cannot find a tribe in NC, USA, I’ll create it. Thank you for amazing and motivating tips. 💕🫶🏾
